Situ staff attend uk tm meeting 2015

On the 10th September 2015 several members of SITU made the journey to UCL for the 2015 UK Trial Managers Network Meeting. The day was well attended by trial managers and other trial staff from across the country. Particular highlights included Professor Sean Treweek who spoke on the Trial Forge initiative, and Tracey Davidson, from CHaRT at the University of Aberdeen, who spoke about trial management lessons learnt ‘the hard way’. Professor Treweek will be speaking at the EQUATOR/OCTRU Seminar Series at the Botnar Research Centre on Wednesday 21st October 2015. Too book a place, please email octrutrialshub@ndorms.ox.ac.uk.

The day provided a good opportunity for networking with fellow trial managers, particularly during the workshops in the afternoon. The workshops primarily focused on Trial Efficiencies and SWATs (studies within a trial).

There was also an update on the Network’s activities, and the future direction of the Network. In the coming months it is hoped that there will be a revamp of the Network’s website, as well as more opportunities for trial managers to communicate with each other-such as through the forums.
