Clinical Trial Manager-SPAARK
- Additional job titles
I am currently the Clinical Trial Manager for the SPAARK trial: Study of Peri-Articular Anaesthetic for Replacement of the Knee. SPAARK is a multi-centre, blinded, randomised controlled trial investigating the clinical and cost effectiveness of periarticular liposomal bupivacaine compared with bupivacaine hydrochloride for post-operative recovery after knee replacement surgery. Liposomal bupivacaine is already licenced in the USA but does not yet have marketing authorisation in the UK.
After graduating in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) in Human Physiology, I undertook training at a commercial pharmacy and became an Accredited Dispensary Assistant. I then began my career in clinical research and worked as a Clinical Trial Support Officer at the Oncology Clinical Trials Office (OCTO), also at the University of Oxford. Previous to my current post, I worked for a Contract Research Organisation for 3 years as a Clinical Trial Administrator and Clinical Trial Coordinator respectively. I have worked on a variety of UK-only and global trials across different phases and therapeutic areas such as colorectal cancer, renal cell carcinoma and multiple sclerosis
