Rebecca Cooke

Apprentice Clinical Trial Support Officer

I Joined the SITU (Surgical Interventions Trials Unit) team in June 2017, via the university’s apprenticeship scheme, and am based in the Botnar Research Centre. SITU spans both NDORMS (Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences) and NDS (Nuffield Department of Surgery), covering a range of surgical trials from orthopaedics and plastics to general surgery.

My role will comprise of Clinical Trials Support and Administration Support Duties for the orthopaedics and plastics teams, whilst completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration through Abingdon and Witney College.

I have almost 5 years’ experience in operating theatres in a range of specialities, including trauma and orthopaedics, and this role gives me the opportunity to fuel my interest in Surgical Trials whilst gaining a relevant qualification.
