Steffi le Conte
Clinical Trial Manager, PART Study
I joined the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences in 2011. Prior to joining SITU, I was the Trial Manager of ACST-2, a multi-centre, worldwide RCT looking at two stroke prevention treatments in patients with tight asymptomatic carotid artery disease.
I am now the Trial Manager of PART, a feasibility study which aims to enrol 100 men with unilateral, intermediate risk prostate cancer. The trial will be comparing radical prostatectomy versus partial ablation of the prostate gland. This is the first phase III study comparing these treatments, and aims to demonstrate the feasibility of recruitment to a RCT. Should this feasibility study be successful, our main trial will aim to recruit around 700 patients, the results of which will inform the medical community about focal therapy versus surgery for intermediate risk localised prostate cancer.
